Special Education Teacher- Behavior Intervention, Inclusion and Belonging (Student Services)

Position Summary: The successful individual will manage a student caseload on a special education team and will demonstrate the ability to contribute to a dynamic and innovative team working effectively to enhance the educational program within the school and the district. This person will be aware of, and able to use, multiple forms of assessment.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in education. Valid Alaska Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement. Experience managing diverse caseloads across multiple settings and exceptionalities. Strong knowledge of inclusive education practices and current research-based interventions. Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and monitor behavior intervention plans. Effective collaboration skills for working with general education staff, support personnel, families, and students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that promote positive relationships. Demonstrated proficiency with IDEA and Alaska special education regulations and compliance standards. Cultural responsiveness and commitment to equity and belonging for all students, including students with disabilities. Valid Alaska Driver's License and Insurance.

Compensation: Salary is dependent on experience and education. The Juneau School District offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vision as well as membership in the Teachers Retirement System (TRS) plan.
