Apply for this role →A growing, multi-entity organization is seeking an experienced Controller to lead all accounting operations and serve as a key member of the leadership team. This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible role overseeing the entire accounting function while helping scale a dynamic, fast-paced business. This position is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys balancing strategic leadership with operational execution and has deep expertise in ASC 842 lease accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee all accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, financial reporting, and month-end close. Manage and mentor an accounting team while fostering accountability, development, and operational excellence. Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements. Serve as the subject matter expert for ASC 842 lease accounting, including lease administration, right-of-use assets, lease liabilities, disclosures, and ongoing compliance. Lead the annual external audit process and coordinate with outside auditors. Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes. Partner with executive leadership on strategic initiatives, growth projects, and process improvements. Support system enhancements, implementations, and continuous improvement efforts. Assist with acquisition activity, technical accounting matters, and integration initiatives as needed.
What We're Looking For:
10-15+ years of progressive accounting experience. Previous experience as a Controller with responsibility for the entire accounting department. Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams and developing staff. Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with ASC 842 lease accounting in a multi-location or complex operating environment. Experience leading annual audits and working directly with external auditors. Background working within companies exceeding $100M in revenue, preferably in environments where leadership maintained broad accounting oversight rather than a highly specialized focus. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and technical accounting. Ability to thrive in a fast-changing, high-growth environment and effectively manage competing priorities. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA strongly preferred. MBA is a plus.
