Make a Lifelong Impact: Volunteer with Pilot Dogs! At Pilot Dogs, our mission is to empower individuals who are blind or visually impaired by pairing them with world-class guide dogs. Behind every successful partnership is a dedicated team of volunteers helping raise, train, and care for our dogs from day one. We are currently looking for passionate animal lovers to fill key roles on our campus:- AM & PM Dog Runners: Help feed meals, walk dogs to yards, and assist with playgroups! Must have good balance, comfortable working with medium to large excited dogs AM & PM Puppy Palace Support for Kindergarten (KG) Puppies: This is our older puppies that are between 9 weeks - 14 weeks of age. Morning shift starts with getting puppies breakfast and getting them outside to potty. Help them get to crates. Assist cleaning kennels: cleaning up feces, hoses, WyziWash, scrubbing, and squeegee. If interested, can assist with Puppy Field trips. PM Shifts: Help disinfect middle playpen, feed dinner, play/relieve puppies, spot clean kennels, check water bowls, disinfect toys, help clean office/training room and garage. Must have good balance, comfortable bending over, and handling sharp teething puppies Puppy Palace Support for PreK Puppies This is with our younger puppies of 4-9 weeks of age. Help Clean kennels, puppy massage, puppy play, and feeding meals. Must have good balance, comfortable bending over, and handling sharp teething puppies Puppy Transport (As Needed): Drive to pick up or drop off puppies or dog(s). Can use own vehicle or can borrow PDI vehicle. There are also opportunities that do not require interaction with dogs. Kennel Pod Cleaning: Help scoop feces, disinfect toys, bowls, hose, disinfect, and scrub kennels. Must be comfortable moving around 75 ft hose, bending over, and working with disinfectant. Puppy Palace Building Cleaning Does not require interaction with dogs though the cats are very friendly Laundry, dusting, Bathrooms, Trash, Break room clean-up, sweep, mop Student Residence Support (As Needed): Residential Housekeeping: Vacuuming, dusting, laundry, and washing windows in student rooms. Classroom Prep: Sanitizing tables and preparing training spaces before and after lessons. Graduation Support: Helping with the "shine and polish" before graduation ceremonies and the cleanup afterward. General Support: Assisting with various tasks as needed to keep the resident building in top shape. Impact: A tidy, predictable environment is essential for Orientation & Mobility (O&M) training.
