About the Role:
We’re looking for an Experienced Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance & Accounting team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will support the monthly close process and take ownership of recurring accounting responsibilities across multiple entities. This is a great opportunity for an accountant with a strong foundation who is ready to continue learning, take on greater responsibility, and contribute to building accurate, efficient, and scalable accounting processes. You’ll work across a variety of accounting functions, including reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable, payroll, intercompany accounting, revenue, financial reporting, and month-end close. We’re looking for someone who: Learns quickly and asks thoughtful questions Takes ownership of their responsibilities Follows through and meets deadlines Is comfortable working independently in a remote environment Pays close attention to detail and accuracy Looks for opportunities to improve processes Wants to leave processes better than they found themWhat You’ll DoPrepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Own assigned balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process Reconcile bank, credit card, merchant processor, and financing activity Support Accounts Payable, including categorization, accruals, and vendor reconciliations Support payroll and intercompany accounting Maintain prepaid expense, accrued expense, and fixed asset schedulesAssist with deferred revenue and revenue recognition schedulesAssist with refund and allowance schedulesAssist with sales tax reporting and supporting schedules Prepare recurring financial reporting support Support year-end tax and external accounting requests Document recurring processes and identify opportunities to improve, simplify, or automate themWhat We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field2–4 years of progressive accounting experience Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills Experience with QuickBooks Online and Bill.com Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Demonstrated reliability and ownership of work A continuous-improvement mindset and interest in making processes more accurate, efficient, and scalable
Nice to Have:
- Multi-entity accounting experience
- Exposure to deferred revenue or ASC 606 Experience with high-volume consumer, subscription, e-commerce, or healthcare businesses
- Experience with payment processors
- Familiarity with tools such as Shopify, Recurly, or EPDComfort using automation and AI to improve efficiency while maintaining independent judgment, accuracy, and accountability
