Heavy Civil Assistant Project Manager - FDOT Highway Naples, FL | $120,000 to $160,000 per year plus project bonus | Full-time, on-site A heavy civil highway and bridge contractor with projects across Florida is hiring an Assistant Project Manager for a project in the Naples area. The role works alongside the Project Manager to run cost, schedule, subcontracts, and owner reporting on heavy civil highway work, much of it for FDOT. It's a full-time, on-site position with room to grow into running your own projects. Schedule Full-time, on-site at the project in Naples, FL. Compensation $120,000 to $160,000 base salary, plus project bonus potential.
What You'll Do: You will plan project cost, resources, and schedule, then control the budget and hold the schedule through construction. You will administer subcontracts and manage subcontractor performance, and coordinate labor, materials, and equipment with the field team. You will also handle contracts, permits, and licenses for the project. You will interpret drawings, specifications, and regulations for the project team, and supervise project engineers, reviewing their reports and work. You will address safety issues on the job and support the company's safety program. You will report project progress to owners, engineers, and FDOT representatives, working closely with the Project Manager on project decisions.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction science, or civil engineering 5+ years of construction management or project engineering experience on progressively complex projects Heavy civil construction experience Experience with project cost control, scheduling, and subcontract administration Experience supervising project engineers or other project staff Ability to work full-time on-site in Naples, FL Based in Southwest Florida, or willing to relocate to the Naples area
Preferred Qualifications: Heavy civil highway or bridge experience FDOT project experience Primavera P6 experience HCSS Heavy Job or Heavy Bid experience OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification FDOT Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certification Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license
