Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The counselor provides assessment and treatment as well as education andtraining to clients and their families. The appropriate candidate has experienceworking with clients with co-occurring mental illness. Specifically, the substance use counselor will be responsible for: Conducting substance use assessments and comprehensive psychosocial evaluations. Meeting with clients for ongoing individual counseling Leading group counseling sessions Providing crisis intervention as needed. Providing psychoeducation to clients and their family members Maintain case records in EHR to ensure continued treatment planning, referrals, and follow up Providing referrals to other providers within the agency and outside agencies as needed and monitoring clients' compliance with referral. Coordinating client care with other behavioral health care providers including psychiatrists, behavioral health therapists, case managers and primary and specialty care providers. Other responsibilities as needed. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: CASAC-T, CASAC License or LM/CSW or LMHC 1-4 years of experience Must be comfortable utilizing telemedicine platforms and video conferencing systemsPersonal Qualities: Looking for a team player and strong communicator
