Adjunct Instructor – ASL (Pooled Position)
Position Summary:
CCM seeks passionate and skilled adjunct instructors to teach American Sign Language (ASL) courses. We are looking for individuals committed to fostering a rich and immersive learning environment for students to develop their ASL proficiency and cultural understanding.
Responsibilities:
Create dynamic teaching/learning environments for students.
Teach assigned courses following the course description and outline established by the department.
Adhere to teaching schedules including day/evening courses and online/hybrid instruction.
Participate in departmental initiatives such as assessment and respond to requests regarding grades, grade submissions, and other course-related content.
Qualifications:
Education
A minimum of a Master’s degree in ASL or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
Priority will be given to instructors with a background in ASL linguistics.
Experience
Prior college or university teaching experience preferred.
Skills
Native or near‑native fluency in ASL.
Demonstrated knowledge of language teaching and learning methodologies and techniques.
Familiarity with Blackboard and other instructional technologies desired.
