Mainframe Storage Engineer

Location: Plano, TX 75024 (Hybrid for now but may be changed to Full onsite in the near future)

Duration: 6 months

Must Have: Skills: Strong knowledge of IBM z/OS Storage Management. Hands-on experience with Hitachi Disk Storage (HDS/VSP, USP, VSP G Series).Experience administering IBM Virtual Tape System (VTS) or Virtual Tape Library (VTL).Strong understanding of DFSMS, SMS, ACS routines, and Storage Groups. Experience with DASD management, allocation, migration, and performance tuning. Knowledge of backup and recovery processes for mainframe storage environments. Experience with storage monitoring and capacity planning.

Skills: Coordinate storage-related software and hardware upgrades. Troubleshoot storage incidents and resolve complex production issues. Work closely with system programmers, application teams, and infrastructure teams during project implementations. Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and storage standards. Ensure compliance with enterprise security, audit, and operational policies. Participate in on-call production support and maintenance activities as required.
