General DescriptionThe Fine Grading Laborer is responsible for assisting with earthwork, roadway, and fine grading operations on construction sites. This role involves performing manual labor, operating hand tools and small equipment, and ensuring precision in grading work under the supervision of the Fine Grading ForemanKey DutiesGrading & Site Preparation: Assist in fine grading, excavation, and site leveling for construction projects. Work with the grading team to ensure proper surface preparation and compactionFollow site plans and grade specifications to meet project requirements. Equipment Operation & Manual Labor: Use hand tools and power tools such as shovels, rakes, compaction equipment, and grade rods. Assist in setting grade stakes and measuring elevations for accuracy. Operate small construction equipment as directed by the Foreman. Safety & Compliance: Follow all company and OSHA safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment. Be aware of surrounding job site hazards, including moving equipment and heavy machinery. Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks as required.

Qualification RequirementsEducation & Experience: High school diploma or GED preferredPrior experience in grading, excavation, or construction is a plus. Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectivelySkills & Competencies: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditionsExperience using hand tools and small grading equipmentStrong attention to detail and ability to follow instructionsPhysical DemandsFrequent standing, bending, stooping, and crouching for at least 8 hours per shiftAbility to lift 50 lbs frequently and up to 150 lbs with assistanceWalk on uneven terrain in varying weather conditionsMaintain constant awareness of construction site activities. Work EnvironmentOutdoor construction sites in all weather conditions.
