About the Role:
This is a front-office position on our Power & Gas trading desk, with a primary focus on natural gas markets and exposure to North American power markets. You'll work alongside experienced portfolio managers to analyze market fundamentals, support position management, and develop a deep understanding of the relationships between natural gas and power markets. The initial focus will be on building our capabilities in financial natural gas markets, with the opportunity to take on broader responsibilities as the business develops.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze natural gas market fundamentals, including production, storage, pipeline flows, weather, demand, basis, etc. Support the management of physical and financial power positions across ISO/RTO markets and assist with related gas exposure Monitor power and gas markets to identify trading opportunities, market dislocations, and relationships between the two commodities Help build out our natural gas market capabilities, initially focused on financial markets, with potential to evaluate physical market opportunities as the business evolves
Qualifications:
1–4+ years of experience in natural gas markets, energy trading, fundamentals analysis, or a related field Bachelor's degree in Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field Working knowledge of North American gas market structure: hubs, basis, pipelines, storage, and key data sources (EIA, pipeline EBBs, commercial data providers)Familiarity with North American power markets and ISO/RTO structures a plus Strong quantitative skills; proficiency in Python and Excel required High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and interest in helping build a new trading capability from the ground up
