Role: Senior Database Administrator (DBA) / Database Engineer
Location: Sunrise, FL Duration : Long Term Contract
About the role:
Experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) / Database Engineer with 10+ years of hands-on experience in database architecture, design, development, administration, and performance optimization across relational and NoSQL database technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Oracle, PostgreSQL, Couchbase, and Cassandra, with proven experience designing scalable, highly available, secure, and high-performing database solutions for enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain enterprise database solutions using Oracle, PostgreSQL, Couchbase, and Cassandra.
- Perform database architecture and data modeling activities for relational and NoSQL databases.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and database objects.
- Monitor and tune database performance, including query optimization, indexing, execution plans, and resource utilization.
- Design and implement high availability, replication using Goldeng
- Gate, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Support large-scale database migrations, platform upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
- Implement database security, access controls, encryption, auditing, and compliance best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex database issues, production incidents, and performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with development teams to establish database design standards, coding best practices, and efficient data access patterns.
- Automate routine database administration, monitoring, deployment, and maintenance activities.
- Support database solutions deployed in on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Develop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and database standards.
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of professional experience in database design, development, engineering, and administration.
Strong hands-on experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL, including database architecture, SQL development, performance tuning, and administration.
Practical experience with Couchbase and Cassandra, including NoSQL data modeling, cluster management, replication, and performance optimization.
Strong understanding of relational and distributed database architecture, indexing strategies, partitioning, and query optimization.
Experience implementing database high availability, backup/recovery, disaster recovery, and replication strategies using GoldenGate.
Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, PL/pgSQL, and database scripting.
Experience diagnosing and resolving complex production database issues.
Strong knowledge of database security, access management, and data protection.
Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments with mission-critical applications.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
