Cardiovascular Operating Room Surgical Technologist Job at Memorial Hermann Health System in South Houston

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a CVOR Surgical Technologist to support complex cardiovascular procedures in a high-acuity operating room. In this role, you will prepare and maintain a sterile field, manage specialized instruments and equipment, and anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient procedures. You’ll collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, contributing to excellent patient outcomes. Prepare and maintain a sterile field for cardiovascular surgeries in the CVOR Set up, manage, and troubleshoot surgical instruments and equipment Anticipate surgeons’ and nurses’ needs during procedures Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping according to protocols Perform accurate instrument, sponge, and sharps counts Follow infection control, safety, and quality standards at all times Collaborate with the surgical team to support optimal patient outcomes Document required intraoperative information accurately and timely Cardiovascular operating room procedures Sterile technique Surgical instrumentation management Intraoperative patient positioning and prep Use of surgical equipment and technology Infection control and safety protocols Instrument counts and documentation Collaboration with surgeons and RNs Cardiopulmonary bypass procedure support Emergency response in OR Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred Experience in cardiovascular or CVOR setting
