Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. Also measures the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is impaired function. Respiratory therapists can work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, doctor's offices, and clinics.
Education/Requirements:
Associate degree within specialty is required, some states also require the completion of a certificate program. Valid state license required***PM shift. Respiratory therapist must have NBRC RRT certification, TX RT License, ACLS and BLS from AHA. 1 year experience
