Job Title: Library Services - Testing Proctor (PT)

Posting Category - StaffHiring Range - $15.06 - $18.82 Full Salary Range - $15.06 - $22.58 Months Worked Annually - 10 months Typical Work Schedule - Ability to work hours that library are open.
Job Summary: Candidate will proctor exams in Sheridan College Testing Center, including checking in patrons and collecting/scanning exams. Hours may include evenings and weekend. May include time on circulation desk and assisting library patrons.
Reports To: Director of Library Services
Education/Qualifications - High school diploma required, Associates degree preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office software (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under variable directives and situations
  • Good written and oral communication
  • Ability to learn on the job and apply creative solutions to routine functions and processes
  • An understanding of library services and testing procedures
  • Working Conditions/Physical Requirements - Frequent interruptions
  • Ability to reach overhead and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
  • Long periods of time working with computers
  • Schedule could include a combination of days/nights and possible occasional weekend hours

Experience: Evidence of familiarity with computers and navigating the online environment required.
Job Duties:
  • Percentage of time - 70%Responsibility/Duty - Proctor Exams
  • Percentage of time - 5%Responsibility/Duty - Assist patrons with online exam access
  • Percentage of time - 5%Responsibility/Duty - Assist with ACT testing 4-6 times/year
  • Percentage of time - 5%Responsibility/Duty - Troubleshoot minor equipment and technology problems
  • Percentage of time - 5%Responsibility/Duty - Assist with usage tracking for testing
  • Percentage of time - 10%Responsibility/Duty - Other duties or projects as assigned
