Apply for this role (opens in a new tab)Junior Accounting & Billing Specialist – Construction Morris County, NJ$55,000–$65,000A growing construction/restoration business is looking for an early-career Accounting & Billing Specialist to join its team. This could suit someone with around 1 year of accounting experience who wants to build broader experience across AP, AR, billing and collections within the construction industry.
What you'll be doing:
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Preparing and processing customer invoices
- Following up on outstanding balances and assisting with collections
- Entering and maintaining accounting information in QuickBooksSupporting project/job-related accounting
- Reviewing invoices, payments and supporting documentation
- Working with project teams and customers to resolve billing issues
- Learning construction-specific processes including lien waivers, AIA billing and insurance-related documentation
What we're looking for:
- Around 1+ year of AP, AR, billing or general accounting experience
- QuickBooks experience
- Construction, restoration, contracting, home services or another project-based industry strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Someone looking to develop into a broader construction accounting role
Direct property-insurance experience is not required, the company is happy to train someone with the right accounting foundation and attitude.
