We is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to manage outbound and inbound shipments from our New York City office location. This role is responsible for coordinating carrier logistics, preparing accurate shipping and customs documentation, and ensuring orders are processed efficiently and in compliance with domestic and international shipping requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Process, package, and prepare outbound shipments for wholesale customers, including labeling, weighing, and selecting appropriate packaging materials. Create and manage shipments through DHL, UPS, and Fed Ex online portals, including generating labels, scheduling pickups, tracking packages, and resolving delivery exceptions. Prepare and verify commercial invoices, packing lists, and other export documentation required for international shipments. Apply correct Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes to shipped goods, ensuring accurate classification for customs clearance. Coordinate with freight carriers and customs brokers as needed to resolve delays, discrepancies, or documentation issues. Receive and inspect inbound shipments, verify against purchase orders/packing slips, and route product to appropriate storage or showroom areas. Communicate with sales and customer service staff regarding order status, tracking numbers, and delivery timelines. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping/receiving area within the office/showroom space. Assist with showroom duties as needed (e.g., product staging, sample handling)
Qualifications: 1–3+ years of experience in a shipping/receiving or logistics coordinator role, ideally within wholesale, distribution, or import/export operations. Hands-on experience using DHL, UPS, and Fed Ex shipping portals for label creation, tracking, and rate comparison. Working knowledge of HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) codes and product classification for customs purposes. Familiarity with commercial invoice requirements and other international shipping/export documentation. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly with documentation and data entry. Comfortable using standard office software (Excel, Outlook) and order/inventory management systems. Good organizational and time-management skills; able to prioritize multiple shipments and deadlines. Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with carriers, brokers, and internal teams. Ability to lift/move boxes and product (typically up to 40–50 lbs) as needed Preferred Familiarity with international freight forwarding or customs brokerage processes. Experience with wholesale order fulfillment or B2B shipping workflows.
