In this role you will own and design core pieces of Ramp's accounts receivable automation, enabling end-to-end invoicing, collections, payments, cash application, and accounting sync. You'll translate finance workflows into reliable software, collaborating with product and design to simplify complex processes for customers. Expect to tackle high-stakes data matching and ledger integrity at scale, with opportunities to shape the platform's reliability and cross-system integrations. You will drive impact by delivering end-to-end projects that directly affect how businesses move money. Responsibilities:
- Build payment-matching systems that automatically apply payments to invoices across ACH, wire, card, and checks
- Design data models ensuring traceability from invoice to payment to general ledger
- Develop two-way integrations with ERPs like NetSuite and QuickBooks with retry and fault-tolerance
- Create collections workflows to accelerate cash collection while preserving customer relationships
- Own projects from problem definition through launch, monitoring, and iteration
- Contribute to engineering excellence via design reviews, code reviews, and mentorship
Key requirements:
- Experience designing and operating production backend systems (APIs, data models, asynchronous workflows)
- Strong system design judgment balancing speed, correctness, reliability, and simplicity
- Track record of independently owning complex projects and shipping high-quality software
- Strong communication and collaborative decision-making skills
