Banner Health and the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix are seeking a passionate and collaborative internal medicine physician to join our leadership team as Associate Program Director for Ambulatory & Community Medicine at our outpatient health center in Mesa, Arizona. This is an opportunity to combine outpatient clinical practice with meaningful educational leadership while helping shape the continued growth of a new and innovative internal medicine residency program.

Position Highlights Educational Leadership: Lead and continuously evolve the ambulatory and community medicine curriculum, with opportunities to develop innovative approaches to longitudinal learning, primary care, population health, and community-based care. Protected Academic Time: Dedicated administrative time for curriculum development, resident education and mentorship, faculty collaboration, assessment, and program leadership.
Clinical Practice: Provide high-quality Internal Medicine care in a supportive, community-based outpatient setting with flexible scheduling options.
Teaching and Mentorship: Teach and mentor medical students and residents while helping learners develop clinical reasoning, communication, leadership, and professional identity.
Community Engagement: Help strengthen connections between our residency program and the diverse communities we serve.
Interdisciplinary Teamwork: Work alongside experienced physicians, medical assistants, front office staff, and clinical and program leadership in a collaborative team-based environment.

Requirements:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
Passion for
Medical Education:
Demonstrated interest in teaching, mentoring, and developing physicians
Leadership and Academic Interest: Demonstrated leadership experience or a strong interest in developing as a leader within graduate medical education
Patient-Centered Approach: Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based, high-quality care
Arizona Medical Licensure: Must hold or be eligible for Arizona state medical licensure
