Apply for this role →Senior Accounting Manager📍 Modesto, CA💲 $85,000 – $95,000 DOE🕒 Full Time | On SiteThe Senior Accounting Manager will oversee day to day accounting operations with a strong focus on construction accounting, Work In Progress (WIP) reporting, month end close, Accounts Payable, and cash flow management. This individual will serve as a key financial partner to leadership and help strengthen accounting processes across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the month end close process including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Manage full cycle Accounts Payable operations and vendor relationships
- Oversee cash flow management and assist leadership with financial planning needs
- Maintain and monitor Work In Progress (WIP) schedules and project based financial reporting
- Identify discrepancies, cost overruns, and accounting risks within construction projects
- Support inventory oversight and tracking processes
- Assist with subcontractor payments and business-related tax functions
- Partner closely with leadership to improve efficiencies and offload day to day accounting responsibilities
- Communicate professionally with key vendors and external partners including major supplier accounts
- Assist with the company’s transition and continued utilization of QuickBooks Online (QBO)
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience required
- Strong background in construction accounting highly preferred
- Direct experience with WIP reporting and project-based accounting required
- Experience managing AP, month end close, and cash flow activities
- Familiarity with subcontractor payments, vendor management, and inventory accounting
- QuickBooks Online experience strongly preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues proactively
- Professional communication skills and ability to work cross functionally with leadership and vendorsCPA or advanced accounting education is a plus, but not required
