Assistant Director - Life & Health Insurance Product Regulation

Salary: Up to $105,000 annually

About the Role: Our client is seeking an experienced insurance regulatory professional to oversee the review and compliance of Life & Health insurance product filings while leading regulatory initiatives and supervising the Form & Rate Analyst team. This position is ideal for candidates with direct experience working for an insurance carrier, Department of Insurance, or other organization responsible for Life & Health product filings and regulatory compliance.

Important: This position requires specialized experience in Life & Health insurance product filings. Applicants should have direct experience with rate and form filings, SERFF, and insurance regulatory operations. Experience that is limited to insurance sales, agency/broker operations, producer licensing, claims, underwriting, healthcare administration, banking compliance, or general corporate compliance does not, by itself, meet the minimum qualifications for this position.

Responsibilities: Lead the review and approval of Life & Health insurance product, rate, and form filings. Analyze legislation and regulatory changes affecting Life & Health insurance products. Draft regulations, bulletins, guidance documents, and departmental policies. Ensure compliance with all applicable state insurance laws and regulations. Partner with actuarial staff to support product strategy, rate adequacy, and market positioning. Review product specifications, policy forms, endorsements, and filing documentation. Support new product development, market expansion, and implementation activities. Monitor regulatory changes and oversee timely implementation. Supervise and mentor regulatory staff. Prepare reports and recommendations for executive leadership.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of supervisory or management experience. Demonstrated leadership experience within insurance regulatory or product compliance operations.
