26-27 Lopez Island FRC Local Food Systems Prgm Asst This is an Ameri Corps/Washington Service Corps national service position. It is contingent on funding and open until filled. The Lopez Island Family Resource Center (LIFRC) helps families meet their basic needs. LIFRC offers a variety of programs and services to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Lopez Island School District currently runs a successful Garden-to-Cafeteria program. Students access hands-on learning in a 24,000 square foot production garden and orchard that grows food for the school cafeteria. The school district and LIFRC are partnering to create a more secure food system in our rural and remote community. The member will focus on education, food distribution, and outreach to families and partners. They will split their time between the school district and LIFRC. Candidates who are multilingual in Spanish and English are preferred. We expect to begin rolling review of applications and interviews in mid-late September. Monthly stipend amount: $2,438.
