Cost Accountant Manufacturing - Cumming, GAThe Cost Accountant supports financial and operational reporting within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining standard cost systems, analyzing COGS and manufacturing variances, supporting ERP-driven reporting, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. The position works cross-functionally with sales, operations, and leadership to ensure accurate costing, margin analysis, and inventory reporting while driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in developing, maintaining, and analyzing standard costs Partner with sales to provide cost data for pricing and quoting decisions Improve costing processes through cross-functional collaboration Prepare and distribute manufacturing reports including gross margin, yield, and aged inventory Maintain monthly gross margin reporting Prepare month-end journal entries (COGS, E&O, PPV, and other manufacturing accounts)Complete balance sheet reconciliations related to manufacturing accounts Calculate and record quarterly labor and overhead capitalization Perform monthly obsolescence analysis with Controller/CFOAnalyze COGS accounts monthly
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing accounting or related capacity Experience recording journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts Strong understanding of manufacturing variances and cost analysis
