Surgical Physician Assistant - PA-C

Job Responsibilities: Perform thorough assessments to evaluate patient health through physical exams and medical histories Assist in diagnosing surgical conditions by interpreting clinical imaging and lab results Collaborate proactively with surgeons to formulate and implement individualized surgical care plans Provide intraoperative assistance, maintaining an efficient workflow in the operating room while managing patient positioning and instrument exchange Ensure exceptional pre- and post-operative care, which includes administering medications, managing wound care, and facilitating discharge planning and patient education

Education Requirements: Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program Preferred experience in surgical rotations during clinical training

Certification Requirements: Current and unrestricted PA-C certification BLS and ACLS certification protocols must be current Required state licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant Essential Skills Comprehensive knowledge of surgical practices and maintaining sterile environments Expertise in interpreting diagnostic tests and providing insight for clinical decisions Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with patients and team members alike Able to flourish in fast-paced environments, especially in surgical situations Exemplary bedside manner paired with a genuine respect for patients' needs and dignity
