Substitute Custodian

Substitute Custodian Applications will be accepted for the position of Substitute Custodians. This position is on an as-needed basis. Duties and responsibilities include sweeping and mopping floors and stairs, scraping, polishing and maintaining as necessary. Dusting desks, woodwork, furniture and other equipment. Polishing furniture and metal furnishings. Emptying wastebaskets; collecting and disposing of rubbish. Mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, raking leaves, and performing other ground-keeping tasks as assigned. Assisting in the operation of a low-pressure heating system, including firing. Delivering packages and messages, as assigned. Setting up chairs tables, equipment, etc. for special use of school buildings. Repairing window shades, etc., as assigned. Replacing light bulbs, soap and towels, etc., as assigned. Painting rooms and equipment, as assigned. Assisting in making minor plumbing, carpentry and electrical repairs. Washing windows, walls, blackboards, sinks and other fixtures, etc., as assigned. Clearing snow and ice from walks, etc., as assigned when necessary. Assisting with kitchen clean up and lunch clean up. Cleaning walls, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms. Maintaining a clean school environment. Performing other tasks that may be assigned by the School Principal and/or Administrator, Certified Educational Facilities Manager, Lead Custodian, and Business Administrator/Board Secretary.
