About The Client:
Our client are a well-established engineering consulting firm with decades of experience, active in electric utility and gas projects, including substations, T&D, and renewables.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently lead the design and modification of new and existing substation facilities. Prepare project scopes, conceptual site layouts, single-line diagrams, budget estimates, and engineering documentation. Produce and update detailed substation drawings using CAD software. Revise as-built drawings based on field verification and construction changes. Design site grading plans and develop Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) containment systems. Create detailed engineering packages, including grounding plans, conduit routing, equipment layouts, and control building designs. Prepare complete technical specifications, construction drawings, and bid documentation. Review and approve vendor drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Perform field inspections to validate construction quality and verify design implementation. The successful candidate must have/show: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.4+ years experience in substation design. Effective written and verbal communication skills for preparing technical documentation and collaborating with stakeholders. Comprehensive understanding of substation equipment, including power transformers, circuit breakers, capacitor banks, and related infrastructure. Desire to progress. Great communication skills.
