Other duties as assignedNOTE: Per union guidelines, Metal Trades will only be able to weld on non-code pipe supports and structural items if needed. Metal Trades will not be able to weld on any pipe spools or pressure vessels. All welders must pass a weld test for each welding process to ASME standards and be indentured as a Local 400 Apprentice prior to welding on code pipe and or vessels. Summary of Skills, Knowledge and Abilities High School diploma (required for apprenticeship) No experience needed! Strong mechanical aptitude Mathematical competency, measure, and strong reading comprehension skills Current, valid drivers license with a clean driving record Strong work ethic and attendance Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers Must be able to stay on task and be self-motivated Physical ability to climb, crawl, lift heavy items and work inside confined spaces, hot/cold shop conditions, heights, etc. (any necessary safety training will be provided prior to entering these environments and operating equipment) Interest in earning a Local 400 Fabricator Apprenticeship Direct Reports None
