Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Project & Program Associate to support customer programs within a utility Wildfire Mitigation Program. This position will support initiatives that provide backup power solutions to residential and non-residential customers located in high fire threat areas. The role will assist with project coordination, customer engagement, program data and reporting, vendor management, regulatory reporting, and ongoing program improvements. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, collaborative, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate small to medium-sized projects from initial scoping through completion. Support project planning activities including scope development, timelines, cost estimates, design coordination, and vendor management. Develop and maintain project and program materials including implementation plans, procedures, handbooks, and program documentation. Maintain and enhance program data, tracking, dashboards, and reporting using multiple internal data sources. Track project and program performance metrics and prepare regular status reports covering timelines, budgets, deliverables, and quality. Support programs providing backup power solutions for residential and commercial customers in high fire threat districts. Respond to customer inquiries regarding program requirements and verify customer eligibility information. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, consultants, and internal project teams to support successful program execution. Assist with procurement activities for project-related materials and services. Identify, track, and escalate project risks or issues that could impact timelines or deliverables. Support vendor management and coordination to ensure program requirements are being met. Assist with compliance and regulatory reporting associated with wildfire mitigation programs. Work collaboratively with internal teams and program partners to improve program processes, reporting, documentation, and overall execution.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required. Demonstrated project or program management/coordination experience. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines. Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with data, tracking, reporting, and documentation. Experience working with data and developing reports using multiple sources. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with peers, leadership, vendors, contractors, and customers. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and escalate project issues. Ability to work independently while contributing within a cross-functional team environment. Preferred Background Experience within utilities, energy, electrical infrastructure, backup power, distributed energy, renewable energy, or customer energy programs. Project coordination or project management experience in a regulated environment. Experience with customer-facing programs. Experience supporting vendors or contractors. Experience with program databases, reporting, documentation, and performance tracking. Exposure to regulatory or compliance reporting is a plus.
