We are seeking an experienced VDCO leader to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing key clients, production teams, and projects with a strong technical foundation in asset management solutions, building information modeling, and coordination across multiple disciplines and software platforms. This individual shall have excellent communication skills, presentation ability, a team-mindset, with the drive to continue to deliver cutting edge technology and digital transformation solutions to both internal and external clients.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement a long-term vision and goals for the VDCO practice aligned with firm-wide goals.
Drive innovation and adoption of emerging VDCO technologies, including reality capture, scan to BIM automation, asset management solutions, digital twins, and data analytics.
Support the development of and leverage machine learning tools, artificial intelligence, custom built software applications, and other solutions to drive efficiency, deliver innovative products, and exceed client expectations.
Support cross-discipline integration of VDCO, survey, and GIS workflows to improve design accuracy, field-to-model connectivity, and project delivery efficiency.
Partner with other senior executives to integrate and deploy VDCO solutions across the company.
Operational & Technical Oversight:
Oversee execution of VDCO modeling projects from scoping through delivery.
Establish and maintain quality assurance standards for data collection, processing, and integration with across our network and systems.
Ensure efficient utilization of staff and resources, maintaining high technical standards and schedule performance.
Direct development and implementation of standard operating procedures, software standards, and data management policies.
Business Development & Client Relations:
- Build and strengthen relationships with key clients, including public agencies, utilities, transportation departments, and private developers.
- Identify and pursue new markets and service offerings leveraging VDCO technologies and digital transformation for comprehensive asset management services.
- Lead proposal development, interviews, and presentations for VDCO pursuits.
- Represent the firm in professional and industry associations to enhance visibility
- Team Development
- Develop and implement the strategic plan for the growth of the VDCO practice.
- Mentor, recruit, and develop a high-performing VDCO team at the leading edge of technology and digital transformation in the AEC space.
- Foster a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and collaboration across departments.
- Oversee the programs for training, mentorship, and staff certification across the practice.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or an AEC-related discipline.
Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in VDC and digital transformation services.
Proven experience integrating 3D/BIM technologies into multidisciplinary design and construction workflows.
Demonstrated experience managing clients, projects, and major programs.
Technical & Leadership SkillsDeep understanding of LiDAR, BIM Modeling, LiDAR, 3D mapping, digital modeling, dashboard development, and cross model coordination.
Proficiency with major software platforms: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, Microstation, and point cloud processing tools.
Strategic leadership ability to drive digital innovation within an established AEC environment.
Strong communication, client relationship, and business development skills.
