Salary:
$165,000 – $185,000 base, dependent on experience. Plus truck allowance, gas card and bonus. About This Opportunity We are representing a national self-perform concrete contractor with a long-established business in the Mid-Atlantic that is growing quickly. Their Mid-Atlantic business unit is growing fast and they need a General Superintendent who can run the field. This is not a desk job. You will be out on the projects, supporting and developing the superintendents, planning manpower, sorting problems before they cost money and setting the standard for how the work gets built. The business unit director is a straight shooter and wants someone the crews will respect because they have done the work themselves. All applications are treated in the strictest confidence.

The Role:
You are the senior field leader for the business unit. Your job is to make sure every project is planned properly, manned properly and built properly, and to bring the younger superintendents on so they can do the same. Move between the business unit's projects, supporting the superintendents day to day Own manpower planning across the jobs - the right number of people in the right place, moved between projects as the work demands Work with superintendents on schedules, phase plans, sequencing and look-aheads Plan the big pours - access, truck routing, placement rates, staging, and what happens when it does not go to plan Oversee formwork, shoring and reshoring systems, and deck cycle performance Keep jobs on programme without leaning on overtime to recover them Coordinate equipment, materials, line and grade Hold the field to safety and quality standards Track budget and man hour performance with the project teams Manage the relationship with the GC on site - access, sequencing and schedule pressure Develop superintendents and foremen, and step in to run a project personally when the business unit needs it Requirements 10+ years running structural concrete projects, with time as a superintendent on the tools or close to them Structural, multilevel cast-in-place. Shoring and reshoring, forming and pouring columns and walls, elevated deck cycles, post tension You can plan manpower properly - you know when a scope needs four men and someone has put six on it Track record of developing younger superintendents and foremen Comfortable holding your own with a GC on access, sequencing and schedule Authorised to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future Please Do Not Apply IfBeing direct saves us both time.
