Summary of WorkBe a critical part of our efforts to transform lives, influence change and strengthen our community as the Director of Nursing (DON) at the James River Correctional Center in Jamestown, ND. As the Director of Nursing, you will lead a nursing team of seven nurses, as well as coordinate daily operations of JRCC's clinic and infirmary. You will ensure 24/7 nursing coverage and coordinate multiple clinic schedules. Also, you'll manage sick call, doctor call, medical, psychiatry, PT and contract medical services within the facility. To be successful in this position, you must be willing to work with a residential population daily, demonstrating compassion and respect for all in your care. You prefer to work as part of a team and can reach comfortably across disciplines and departments. You're a recognized leader who delegates effectively and holds people accountable. Yet you'll roll up your sleeves and work alongside the team when needed. You shift fluidly from task to task. And you're interested in innovations in health care, especially how it relates to a residential population.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • To be considered for this position, you must have the following qualifications: Current RN license with the ND Board of Nursing
  • Three (3) years nursing experience
  • Ability to cover shifts evenings, weekends or holidays
  • Ability to complete successfully standard background, criminal record check, and drug screening
  • Preference will be given to applicants with the following: A bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Experience working in a corrections setting
  • Experience in med/surg, behavioral health or public health
