Adjunct Faculty Member The University of Maryland Eastern Shore's Human Ecology Department invites applications for a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach online courses in the graduate and undergraduate nutrition programs. This is a part-time, non-tenure-track position. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. The adjunct faculty member will provide quality instruction to students in the online program. While the primary focus is teaching, responsibilities may also include student advising and participation in curriculum development activities as needed. Responsibilities include providing quality instruction for graduate courses within the Master's program, specifically in the clinical nutrition and nutrition and wellness tracks, teaching online nutrition courses at the undergraduate level, maintaining virtual office hours to support student learning and engagement, participating in student advising and curriculum development activities as needed, and performing other related duties as assigned by the Department Chair. Qualifications include an earned doctorate in Nutrition, Food Science, or a related field. One graduate degree must be in Nutrition or a related field. Prior experience teaching at the college level and proficiency in using instructional technology for online teaching are also required. Effective communication skills, organizational and time management skills, and computer and technology skills relevant to the position are necessary. Demonstrated understanding of interdisciplinary concepts and applications is preferred. Experience collaborating with school practitioners and a Registered Dietitian (RD) credential are also preferred.
