Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to gain insights into clients' mental health concerns, developing individualized treatment plans that cater to their specific needs. Facilitate one-on-one therapy sessions using a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities tailored to the client's situation, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).Engage collaboratively with clients to set therapeutic goals and monitor their progress, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary based on outcomes. Utilize secure teletherapy platforms to provide virtual therapy sessions, ensuring accessibility for clients who prefer or require this format for their therapeutic needs. Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with ethical guidelines and regulatory standards, utilizing whichever electronic health record (EHR) system our clinic employs. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities, including workshops and supervisory sessions, to continuously enhance therapeutic skills and knowledge. Patient Population / Client FocusAs a Mental Health Counselor at Mind Coping Strategies, Inc., you will primarily work with a diverse clientele, serving individuals grappling with a wide array of mental health conditions. Our patient population includes adolescents, adults, and families who may be dealing with issues ranging from everyday stressors to more serious mental health disorders. This role is crucial in providing a safe and trusting space for individuals to explore their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors professionally and empathetically.
Qualifications:
A current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; however, a master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling a safe, trustworthy therapeutic relationship with clients. Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental approach toward clients' experiences and challenges. Excellent organizational skills to effectively manage caseloads and administrative responsibilities.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in a community health setting is highly desired, as we emphasize understanding socioeconomic factors that affect mental health.
Familiarity with telehealth modalities and digital tools used for remote counseling.
Prior experience working with specific populations, such as children, teens, or those in crisis, is considered an asset.
