About The Role:
We’re looking for a meticulous and process-driven Accounts Receivable Specialist to own the day-to-day accuracy of our receivables ledger across our property portfolio. You’ll be the connective tissue between property management and finance, making sure every charge is billed correctly, every payment is applied on time, and every ledger closes clean. This role is central to reliable cash flow reporting and audit-ready books.
What You’ll Do:
Generate Invoices: Prepare and issue timely, accurate tenant and vendor invoices, including recurring charges, CAM reconciliations, and one-off billings Apply Payments: Post and apply incoming payments across multiple properties, ensuring correct allocation and same-day reconciliation Maintain Ledgers: Manage tenant and property ledgers, resolving posting errors and charge discrepancies before they age Reconcile Accounts: Perform regular AR reconciliations against the general ledger and flag variances to accounting leadership Generate Reports: Prepare aging schedules, AR summaries, and supporting schedules for leadership and lenders Support Financial Analysis: Review and audit key financial documents and projections to drive underwriting for new acquisitions and mortgage financial analysis Respond to Inquiries: Field tenant and internal billing questions promptly and professionally, escalating collections issues as needed Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with property managers and the collections team to keep tenant accounts and financial reporting aligned What We Look For 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or accounting, ideally within property management or real estate Bachelor's degree in accounting Familiarity with industry software such as MRI is a plus Strong Excel skills, including comfort reconciling large ledgers Proven ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment High level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling financial data Strong written and verbal communication skills Working knowledge of lease terms and CAM/expense recovery billing is a plus
