Summer Hours:
We close at 1:00 PM on Fridays outside of busy season, with firm-wide goals of taking every Friday completely off from mid-June to mid-August.
Lucrative Compensation:
$85,000 to $120,000 base salary (commensurate with experience), plus a $2,500 - $5,000 sign-on bonus. Achievable Bonus Structure: A highly attainable 10% annual bonus pool based on reasonable chargeable hour metrics (approx. 1,400 hours), paid out twice a year. Zero Traffic: Enjoy a scenic, stress-free reverse commute if you are traveling from the Annapolis or Severna Park areas!
What You Will Do:
Analyze, prepare, and review complex tax returns for businesses (1120, 1120-S, 1065), high-net-worth individuals (1040), and estates/trusts (1041).Take ownership of high-level client accounts, serving as a trusted advisor and providing proactive tax planning and consultation. Supervise, train, and mentor Associate Accountants, reviewing their tax work for accuracy and compliance to support their professional growth. Manage engagements efficiently, meeting charge-hour goals while remaining mindful of budgetary constraints. Utilize advanced cloud-based accounting software (CCH Axcess Tax, Auto Flow) to process work efficiently. Collaborate directly with firm Partners, with the opportunity to smoothly transition into a Manager role as your portfolio grows.
What We Are Looking For
Experience:
3 to 5+ years of dedicated tax experience within a public accounting firm. (Big 4 or regional firm experience is highly valued!).
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s in Taxation is a plus).Licensure: Active CPA license, or currently in the process of testing for your CPA exams.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in public accounting tax technology (CCH Axcess experience is highly preferred) and a solid understanding of GAAP.
