Director of Global Planning Remote | Manufacturing / Electronics Industry
About the Opportunity: Our client is a global manufacturer of highly engineered products serving industries such as medical technology, semiconductor, industrial systems, and scientific instrumentation. With operations spanning North America, Europe, and Asia, the organization is focused on advancing operational excellence and driving continuous improvement across its global supply chain network. The company is seeking a Director of Global Planning to lead demand planning, production planning, inventory management, material planning, and SIOP initiatives. This individual will play a key role in developing planning strategy, improving processes, enhancing ERP planning capabilities, and leading high-performing teams across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities: Lead global SIOP and planning strategies across multiple manufacturing sites. Drive continuous improvement in demand planning, supply planning, production planning, inventory management, and materials management. Develop and optimize planning processes for raw materials, subassemblies, finished goods, and production schedules. Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, IT, and other cross-functional teams to align planning activities with business objectives. Analyze demand trends, historical data, and forecasting models to improve operational performance. Establish and monitor KPIs to measure planning accuracy, inventory performance, and scheduling effectiveness. Improve ERP planning processes and system utilization. Lead large-scale projects focused on operational excellence and process improvement. Build, develop, mentor, and manage high-performing planning teams. Create standardized planning procedures and documentation to drive consistency across locations.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.10+ years of supply chain, planning, or operations experience.5+ years of leadership experience managing planning teams in a multi-site manufacturing environment. Strong background in: S&OP / SIOPDemand Planning Supply Planning Production Planning Inventory Management Materials Management Experience working in a LEAN manufacturing environment. Expertise with ERP planning systems and advanced planning tools. Proven ability to lead organizational change and drive process improvements. Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills. Experience partnering with Operations, Manufacturing, and IT organizations. Ability to travel up to 80%.
Preferred Qualifications: MBA or advanced degree. APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent).Experience with ERP planning systems, reporting tools, and business intelligence platforms. Experience leading planning functions within complex manufacturing environments.
