Family Practice Nurse Practitioner

LocumJobsOnline seeks a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner to provide locum tenens primary care in Tulare County, CA. In this role, you’ll deliver comprehensive outpatient care across the lifespan, including wellness visits, chronic disease management, and same-day acute visits. Responsibilities include performing exams, ordering and interpreting tests, prescribing, documenting in the EHR, coordinating referrals, and educating patients. Work with a collaborative care team while supported by a responsive, service-oriented staffing partner focused on reliable, high-quality locum assignments. Provide comprehensive primary care across the lifespan in an outpatient family practice setting Conduct histories, physical exams, and develop evidence-based treatment plans Manage acute and chronic conditions, including medication management and follow-up Order, interpret, and act on laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging Prescribe medications in accordance with state and federal regulations Document all encounters accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Educate patients and families on preventive care, treatment plans, and lifestyle modification Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, and ancillary staff as needed Ensure compliance with clinic protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements Adapt to varying clinic settings and schedules as part of a locum tenens assignment Family practice/primary care assessment Chronic disease management Acute care and urgent visits Ordering and interpreting labs and imaging Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation Preventive care and wellness counseling Minor procedures (e.g., suturing, I&D) Care coordination and referrals Patient and family education Regulatory and clinical compliance Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active California Nurse Practitioner license National NP certification (FNP preferred) Current DEA registration BLS certification ACLS certification Malpractice coverage eligibility
