Job Description: Job Description Data Center Rack & Stack Technician - $27-$30/hr + OT Location: Montgomery, AL 36105 Pay: $27.00-$30.00 per hour Schedule: Day Shift Approximately 7:00 AM-5:00 PM Hours: Approximately 50 hours per week Overtime available 50+ Immediate Openings PRT Staffing is hiring 50+ Data Center Rack & Stack Technicians for a large data center build in Montgomery, AL. This is a hands-on opportunity installing new GPU server equipment in a non-live data center environment. We're hiring quickly and looking for candidates who are ready to work significant hours and gain hands-on experience on a major data center project.
What You'll Do:
  • Rack and secure servers, network equipment, firewalls, and PDUs
  • Run and connect low-voltage copper and fiber-optic cabling
  • Dress and organize cables according to cable-management standards
  • Label cables, ports, and hardware accurately
  • Assist with asset inventory and equipment tracking
  • Power on equipment and perform basic hardware checks
  • Verify network and power connections
  • Remove, replace, or upgrade hardware components as needed
Requirements:
  • OSHA 10 certification - REQUIRED
  • Basic knowledge of data center hardware, low-voltage cabling, structured cabling, or troubleshooting
  • Ability to lift 49+ lbs. throughout the workday
  • Comfortable standing and walking for extended shifts
  • Reliable transportation to the Montgomery job site
  • Ability to pass required background check and drug screen
  • Dependable and available for approximately 50 hours per week
  • Experience We're Interested In
  • Previous experience in any of the following is helpful: Data center installation or rack & stack
  • Low-voltage or structured cabling
  • Fiber-optic or copper cabling
  • IT hardware installation
  • Network or telecom installation
  • Electronics or equipment assembly
  • Warehouse work involving technical equipment or cabling
