Apply for this role →Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Telecom Construction Project Manager to lead complex outside plant (OSP) fiber construction projects across the United States. Must reside in Cincinnati, Chicago, or Denver- hybrid; 3 days/week in office This role is best suited for a seasoned telecom construction professional who has built their career on the contractor side of OSP construction and understands how projects are executed in the field — from aerial and underground fiber placement to crew production, subcontractor performance, project schedules, forecasting, and financial results. The ideal candidate combines hands-on construction knowledge with strong project leadership and commercial ownership. You should be comfortable understanding what is happening in the field, using production data to make decisions, and connecting construction performance directly to project cost, schedule, margin, and forecast. Compensation & Travel Target base salary of approximately $120,000–$140,000, depending on experience Target annual bonus in the 10–15% range Profit sharing based on company performance Company vehicle Up to 30% travel across the United States, including travel to active project locations and regional hubs such as Cincinnati, Ohio Company-paid travel booked through Concur Per diem provided while traveling
What You’ll Do:
Lead large and complex OSP fiber construction projects from planning through completion Manage aerial and underground fiber construction, including subcontractors, crews, materials, schedules, and field production Apply practical knowledge of construction methods including HDD/directional drilling and/or plow operations Develop and manage project schedules based on quantities, production rates, crew productivity, and construction milestones Own project financial performance, including revenue, costs, margin, forecasting, and cost-to-complete Monitor production quantities and run rates and understand how field performance impacts schedule and profitability Lead subcontractor performance, contract execution, change orders, and project controls Partner closely with field leadership to resolve production, quality, safety, and schedule issues Lead and mentor Project Managers and construction team members Use data to drive decisions, identify risk, and improve project performance Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, field teams, and internal stakeholders Champion a culture of accountability, safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement What We’re Looking For 10+ years of relevant telecom and/or utility construction experience Several years of meaningful Project Manager / Senior Project Manager-level responsibility Significant experience managing contractor-side OSP fiber construction Strong working knowledge of both aerial and underground fiber construction Practical experience with HDD/directional drilling and/or plow construction Demonstrated experience managing substantial construction projects, field crews, and subcontractors Direct project financial ownership including P&L, revenue, cost, margin, forecasting, and cost-to-complete Experience developing and managing quantity-based construction schedules and forecasts Strong understanding of production run rates, crew productivity, and construction economics Leadership experience with the ability to mentor, coach, and provide direction to other Project Managers Strong accountability, communication, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills Experience with wireless construction is welcomed when paired with substantial OSP fiber construction experiencePMP preferred
