This is an exciting opportunity to help establish a new research program from its beginning stages while gaining broad training in systems neuroscience. The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal Investigator and laboratory members to assist with laboratory setup, perform rodent behavioral experiments, fabricate electrophysiology recording devices, and analyze large-scale neural recordings. This position is well suited for a recent graduate interested in pursuing a career in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, data science, or medicine. As the laboratory grows, the trainee will have the opportunity to develop expertise in behavioral neuroscience, in vivo electrophysiology, neural data analysis, scientific communication, and experimental design.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist with establishing a new laboratory, including organizing equipment, setting up workspaces, and preparing experimental infrastructure.
Perform behavioral training and handling of rodents.
Assist in the fabrication, assembly, and testing of chronic electrophysiology recording devices.
Assist with rodent surgeries and in vivo electrophysiology experiments (training provided).Organize, process, and analyze neural and behavioral datasets using MATLAB and/or Python (training provided as needed).Maintain accurate and organized experimental records.
