CORE48 is seeking a Maintenance - Trailer Technician Food-Grade Tank, Van & Reefer Trailers
Position Overview: We are seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Trailer Technician to maintain, inspect, and repair our fleet of food-grade tank, van, and refrigerated trailers. This role is essential to ensuring equipment safety, reliability, cleanliness, and compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations and food-grade sanitation standards. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to a team dedicated to maintaining high-quality equipment.
Key Responsibilities: Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on tank, van, and reefer trailers.�Inspect mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and attachment systems to ensure DOT/FMCSA compliance.�Service and repair brakes, tires, lighting, reefer units, floors, fenders, and mudflaps.�Assist with trailer cleaning and sanitization to maintain food-grade standards.�Utilize diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and technical manuals to troubleshoot and resolve issues.�Maintain accurate maintenance and cleaning records.�Respond to regional service calls and perform temporary roadside repairs as needed.�Follow all safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.�Qualifications�
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.�Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.�Basic understanding of trailer components and mechanical systems.�Ability to read and follow technical service manuals.�Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.�Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physically demanding work.�Flexibility to work various schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.�Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and participate in the company's random drug and alcohol testing program.�Preferred:�Experience with trailer maintenance, fabrication, or food-grade tank trailers.�Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.�Welding experience or AWS certification.�Knowledge of 3-A sanitary standards and food-grade tank repair procedures.�Work Environment�Work is performed in shop, industrial, and outdoor environments with exposure to varying weather conditions, equipment noise, fumes, dust, and grease. Candidates must be comfortable with frequent standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, lifting, and working in confined or hard-to-reach areas while consistently following safety procedures.
