Senior Musical Instrument Retail Sales Associate

Music & Arts is seeking a part-time Senior Sales Associate for our retail location. In this role, you’ll guide students, parents, and educators in selecting band and orchestra instruments, rentals, accessories, and lessons. You’ll use your product knowledge and passion for music to drive sales, promote private lessons, and support school programs. Responsibilities include customer service, merchandising, processing sales and rentals, and coordinating repairs. You’ll work in a collaborative, education-focused environment with opportunities to grow in music retail and student support. Drive in-store sales of instruments, rentals, and accessories Promote and enroll students in private music lessons Deliver excellent customer service to students, parents, and educators Support school service initiatives and community outreach Maintain product knowledge across band, orchestra, and related gear Merchandise, stock, and maintain a clean, organized sales floor Process sales, rentals, returns, and service orders accurately Assist in meeting store revenue and performance targets Collaborate with teammates to support events and promotions Handle basic troubleshooting and coordination for repairs Retail sales Point-of-sale (POS) systems Customer service Product merchandising Inventory management Music instrument knowledge Lesson program enrollment Cash handling and reconciliation Communication skills Basic repair intake and coordination Background in music performance or education preferred Familiarity with band and orchestra instruments Prior retail or specialty sales training a plus
