San Clemente Veterinary Hospital is Hiring a Full-Time Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant!
Position Details Role: Veterinary Technician / Veterinary Assistant Status: Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week Compensation:$22 – $24 per hour
Schedule: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. 4/10 hour shifts
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required Experience:2 years of veterinary clinical experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate

What You’ll Do:
Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to veterinary patients
Apply your knowledge of vaccines and preventive care
Use low-stress handling practices to help patients feel safe and comfortable
Obtain complete patient histories and maintain accurate treatment records
Prepare, dispense, and administer medications as directed
Perform pharmacology and medication calculations accurately
Assist with surgical procedures, including patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery
Assist with dental procedures and patient care
Perform and assist with radiology and diagnostic imaging
Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
Support veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures
Safely and compassionately handle and restrain patients
Educate clients and clearly communicate veterinary recommendations
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
Work collaboratively with veterinarians and fellow support team members
Take ownership of assigned tasks and responsibilities
Help maintain an efficient, organized, and supportive clinical environment
Continue learning while sharing your knowledge with the rest of the team
What You’ll Bring:
High school diploma or equivalent required
2 years of veterinary clinical experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate
Knowledge of vaccines and preventive veterinary care
Understanding of low-stress patient handling practices
Experience with medication dispensing and administration
Ability to obtain thorough patient histories and maintain accurate treatment records
Knowledge of pharmacology calculations
