Apply for this role →Sprint Mechanical is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Field Timekeeping Coordinator to support workforce timekeeping, payroll coordination, labor reporting, and manpower administration on large-scale construction projects. The Field Timekeeping Coordinator is responsible for ensuring employee hours, classifications, work schedules, cost codes, per diem, and other payroll-related information are accurately recorded, reviewed, and submitted within established deadlines. This position works closely with field supervision, project management, payroll, accounting, and employees to maintain accurate labor records and quickly resolve timekeeping discrepancies. Experience supporting semiconductor, data center, industrial, or other large-scale construction projects is preferred.

Key Responsibilities Timekeeping & Payroll Coordination
Collect, review, verify, and process employee time records for assigned projects
Ensure employee hours are accurately recorded and submitted according to established payroll deadlines
Verify regular time, overtime, double time, shift differentials, and other applicable pay categories
Review employee classifications, schedules, and work assignments for accuracy
Track and verify per diem and other project-specific payroll requirements
Research and resolve missing punches, incorrect hours, and other timekeeping discrepancies
Coordinate payroll corrections with employees, supervisors, Payroll, and Accounting
Maintain accurate supporting documentation for timekeeping adjustments and corrections
Labor & Cost Coding
Verify employee hours are charged to the correct project, phase, activity, and cost code
Work closely with Foremen and Superintendents to confirm daily labor allocations
Maintain accurate records of direct and indirect labor
Identify unusual or inconsistent labor charges and communicate discrepancies to project leadership
Support Project Controls and Accounting with labor-hour and cost reporting
Workforce & Manpower Coordination
Maintain current employee and project manpower rosters
Track new hires, transfers, schedule changes, layoffs, terminations, and other workforce changes affecting timekeeping
Coordinate with field leadership to confirm employee work schedules and schedule changes
Prepare daily and weekly manpower reports as required
Assist employees and supervisors with timekeeping questions and system issues
Communicate payroll deadlines and timekeeping requirements to field personnel
Compliance & Documentation
Maintain complete and accurate timekeeping and payroll-support documentation
Ensure time records comply with Sprint Mechanical policies, project requirements, and applicable collective bargaining agreements or Project Labor Agreements (PLAs)
Support prevailing wage and certified payroll documentation when applicable
Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll and personal information
Assist with internal reviews, payroll audits, and reconciliation of timekeeping records
Identify discrepancies or potential compliance concerns and promptly elevate them to appropriate leadership
Reporting & Project Support
Prepare labor-hour, manpower, and other timekeeping reports for project leadership
Maintain organized electronic and/or physical timekeeping records
Provide timely labor information for Project Management, Project Controls, Payroll, and Accounting
Support project forecasting and workforce reporting by providing accurate labor-hour information
Perform additional project administrative duties as assigned
Experience & Qualifications Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to accurately process and reconcile large volumes of employee timekeeping data
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and related business applications
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict weekly payroll deadlines
Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling employee and payroll information
Preferred
1–3 years of construction timekeeping, payroll, or project administration experience
Experience supporting a large craft or field workforce
Semiconductor, data center, advanced manufacturing, or industrial construction experience
Knowledge of union agreements and Project Labor Agreements (PLAs)
Experience with prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements
Experience with electronic timekeeping, payroll, ERP, or construction management systems
Familiarity with Miter, Procore, NetSuite, or similar platforms
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a project office within an active construction environment
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
Ability to walk active jobsites as necessary
Ability to safely access field offices and construction areas
Ability to work the project schedule necessary to support timekeeping and payroll deadlines
Work Environment The Field Timekeeping Coordinator operates in a fast-paced construction environment where accuracy, confidentiality, responsiveness, and meeting payroll deadlines are critical. This position requires frequent interaction with craft employees, Foremen, Superintendents, Project Management, Payroll, Accounting, and Project Controls. The Field Timekeeping Coordinator must be able to professionally address discrepancies while maintaining accurate records and consistent application of company and project requirements.
