At Tray-Tec, you're not just joining a company- you're becoming part of a team that is setting a new standard in industrial field services. Founded in 2005, Tray-Tec has built a strong reputation for delivering safe, high-quality turnaround and tower services to refineries, petrochemical facilities, and gas plants across the United States.
Employees have the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact projects, gain valuable industry experience, and contribute to critical infrastructure that powers communities and industries worldwide. With a culture built on teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement, Tray-Tec offers a place where hard work is recognized, and career growth is encouraged.
Tray-Tec Inc. is hiring Hole Watch / Fire Watch Attendants to keep our crews safe on industrial job sites. You'll be the dedicated safety lookout for confined space entries and hot work: watching conditions, tracking every worker in and out, and calling for help the moment something goes wrong. No experience? We'll train the right people. If you're alert, dependable, and take safety seriously, we want to hear from you.
What you'll do: Hole watch
Remain stationed outside the permit-required confined space for the entire entry, until relieved by another trained attendant.
Verify the entry permit is posted, complete, and signed before allowing entry.
Maintain an accurate count and log of all entrants entering and exiting the space.
Keep continuous communication with entrants (voice, radio, or visual) and monitor their behavior for signs of exposure.
Monitor atmospheric readings with a calibrated gas detector as directed, and record results on the permit or log.
Order entrants to evacuate immediately if a prohibited condition, alarm, behavioral change, or outside hazard occurs.
Summon rescue and emergency services when entrants may need assistance; perform non-entry rescue (retrieval systems) only as trained.
Keep unauthorized persons away from the space and notify the entry supervisor of any attempted unauthorized entry.
Never enter the space or perform duties that interfere with monitoring and protecting entrants.
Fire watch
Inspect the hot work area before work begins (minimum 35-foot radius) for combustibles, openings, and fire hazards.
Confirm the hot work permit is issued, and that required fire extinguishers, hoses, and blankets are in place and ready.
Watch continuously for sparks, slag, smoldering material, and fire on all sides, including adjacent floors, walls, and spaces.
Extinguish incipient-stage fires within the limits of training and equipment and sound the alarm immediately for anything larger.
Stop hot work when unsafe conditions develop.
Remain on post at least 30 minutes after hot work ends (longer if required by the client or permit) and complete a final area inspection.
General
Complete permits, logs, and sign-in sheets accurately and legibly.
Attend daily safety meetings, JSAs, and toolbox talks.
Inspect and maintain assigned monitoring, communication, and firefighting equipment.
Report all incidents, near misses, and hazards to supervision right away.
Follow all Tray-Tec and client site safety rules.
