Job Description Hands-On Laboratory / Engineering Technician - Onsite Seeking a hands-on technician to support the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of prototype laboratory systems in an R&D environment. The role will work closely with engineers, scientists, and senior technicians on electrical and mechanical assemblies, vacuum and gas-handling systems, and cryogenic equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble and configure prototype electrical and mechanical systems.
Set up vacuum and gas-handling systems using CF, KF, NPT, and VCR fittings.
Wire assemblies and build test cables.
Operate and troubleshoot test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, temperature measurement equipment, vacuum pumps, and gauges.
Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on compressors, scroll vacuum pumps, and turbomolecular pumps.
Work with chilled water and liquefied gas systems while following strict safety procedures.
Support engineers and scientists with testing, troubleshooting, and project deliverables.
Maintain laboratory organization, documentation, and 5S standards.
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.4-6 years of relevant hands-on technical experience.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Experience with laboratory, vacuum, cryogenic, or test systems preferred.
Ability to work independently and safely in a hands-on R&D environment.
Nice to Have:
R&D laboratory experience.
SOP/documentation development.
LabVIEW and/or Python experience.
Experience troubleshooting DR systems.
Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
