The work you'll do is more than just a job.
At the State of Minnesota, employees play a critical role in developing policies, providing essential services, and working to improve the well-being and quality of life for all Minnesotans. The State of Minnesota is committed to equity and inclusion, and invests in employees by providing benefits, support resources, and training and development opportunities.
About the Paid Leave Division:
Paid Leave is a new program that launched January 1, 2026. The program provides partial wage replacement to Minnesota workers that are out of work due to a qualifying condition such as a serious health condition that prevents you from working, or when you need time to care for a family member or a new child.
We have built a program that is easy for every Minnesotan to use. We are engaging the people who depend on us: workers, employers, caregivers, and insurers, to learn from them and continue to improve the program around what they need. We are using modern delivery service and product practices to deliver the program.
The Paid Leave team has high standards and an unrelenting commitment to serving Minnesotans. Our aim is to deliver a service that delights Minnesotans. It is a start-up environment without legacy systems or preconceived ways of working, so we have a unique opportunity to create human-centric processes and systems to deliver this new benefit to Minnesotans.
Position Purpose:
This Senior Reporting Analyst position exists to develop, maintain and organize reporting solutions that support strategic decision-making and program performance of the Paid Leave Department. Under limited supervision, this position utilizes a comprehensive and technical knowledge of data analytics technologies to evaluate program results and support strategic decision-making. This position brings a spirit of customer service in responding to requests for data, dashboards and analyses from stakeholders across different levels and functions of government. The incumbent leverages a deep knowledge of the policies and procedures of their assigned area to drive reporting solutions that optimize processes and achieve measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, Manage and Maintain Operational Reporting Portfolio: Position will work with assigned client group within Paid Leave to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of Paid Leave’s processes, enabling informed decision-making and continuous improvement. By providing reporting around key performance indicators (KPIs), Paid Leave can identify trends, measure productivity, assess the quality of outputs, and uncover areas of inefficiency.
Client Engagement – Engage with clients to develop an excellent understanding of their data and analytics needs. Take intentional action to build awareness of the procedures and operational practices of assigned areas of Paid Leave. Meet clients where they are in terms of technical ability to convey a correct understanding of the reporting solutions delivered through consultation, creation of training materials and hand-on training.
Innovation: Contribute to the continuous improvement of initiatives that leverage data to achieve goals. Foster innovation in contributing to the goal of delivering measurable value while meeting objectives.
Start-up spirit: Be prepared to adapt and take a hands-on approach in the early phases of the program and support iterative growth of the team and processes.
This position is telework eligible. Staff are provided with the tools and equipment to be successful in a virtual work environment. Please note, the telework policy could change with notice based on business needs.
This position will be based out of the St. Paul office.
