Apply for this role →Maintenance Manager - Recycling Industry - Base Salary to 110k/year - Webb City, MOOur client, a well-established recycling company, is currently seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations for a busy industrial recycling facility. The Maintenance Manager will oversee a six-person maintenance team and be responsible for fleet maintenance, heavy mobile equipment, diesel trucks, hydraulic systems, stationary processing equipment, and related industrial machinery. This position requires hands-on mechanical experience and the ability to work alongside maintenance personnel while leading day-to-day maintenance operations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise daily maintenance operations for the yard, maintenance shop, fleet, heavy equipment, and stationary processing equipment
- Manage and train a team of six maintenance employees
- Establish and maintain preventive maintenance and equipment maintenance schedules for trucks, heavy equipment, hydraulic equipment, and stationary machinery
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, and operational equipment issues
- Oversee maintenance and repair of trucks, roll-off containers, trailers, material handlers, forklifts, skid steers, and other heavy mobile equipment
- Maintain and troubleshoot stationary processing equipment, including large industrial shears and ferrous balers
- Provide hands-on mechanical support, troubleshooting, and repair guidance to maintenance personnel
- Support welding and fabrication repairs associated with fleet, heavy equipment, and industrial machinery
- Manage maintenance costs and assist with the maintenance department budget
- Maintain inventory of critical spare parts and coordinate outside repairs and service vendors
- Oversee safe maintenance practices throughout yard and shop operations
- Identify maintenance and process improvements that increase equipment reliability, productivity, and uptime
- Work with operations leadership to prioritize repairs and minimize production and equipment downtime
Qualifications:
Proven maintenance management experience supporting heavy equipment and fleet operations within metal recycling or a similar industrial environment, including recycling, demolition, aggregate, quarry, mining, waste management, lumber, steel mills, concrete, asphalt, ready mix, or heavy equipment rental Experience managing maintenance involving heavy mobile equipment, hydraulic systems, diesel trucks, and welding/fabrication in a production-driven industrial environment Hands-on mechanical experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment and stationary industrial machinery Hydraulic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting experience Previous maintenance leadership or supervisory experience Experience diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and operational equipment problems and determining appropriate repairs Experience leading maintenance personnel while providing hands-on equipment maintenance and troubleshooting support
Compensation: Base salary in the 100k - 110k/year range
