Emergency Room Unit Coordinator Works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager and Registered Nurse. The Unit Coordinator's primary job function is to perform clerical duties associated with preparing, compiling, and maintaining patients' records in the Emergency Department. Coordinates functions for the Transfer Center. May be required to work on other nursing units. Supports each strategic value by providing exceptional care to those we serve. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required Ability to read, write, and speak English required Working knowledge of medical terminology required None Six months of healthcare related experience preferred. Job Specific Duties and Performance Expectations: Transcribes and processes physicians' orders. Orders tests, treatments, medications, and supplies. Maintains patents' records. Functions as a communications source for the nursing unit. Records data, reports, and enters patient charges and other information. Welcomes and greets those coming on the unit. Uses telephone etiquette following the SOMC's Code of Conduct. Performs Transfer Center coordination. Performs daily PICIS checks Wears Vocera Badge for Care View Monitoring and communication with nursing staff. Performs other job duties as assigned. Why SOMC?
