Role: Applied AI Scientist
Schedule: 40 hours per week
Work arrangement: Attendance at the client site approximately one day per week
Experience: Approximately four or more years of relevant experience
Role overview: The contractors will support Clinical Trial Innovation initiatives by applying advanced machine learning, biostatistics, and data science methodologies to improve clinical trial design, execution, and decision-making. They will work directly with the client’s Statistical Innovation Group and collaborate with clinical development, biostatistics, data science, and R&D stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include: Designing, developing, and maintaining advanced analytical solutions Conducting applied research in machine learning, statistical modeling, and biostatistics Developing predictive models, simulation frameworks, and experimental methodologies Analyzing clinical, real-world, and operational datasets Designing and executing proofs of concept and validation studies Translating research findings into practical, scalable solutions Maintaining existing analytical models and data products Documenting methodologies, findings, and technical recommendations
Preferred qualifications: PhD in Machine Learning, Biostatistics, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline Experience in pharmaceutical R&D, clinical development, or clinical trials Strong expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, experimental design, and causal inference Proficiency in Python and/or RDemonstrated ability to translate research into solutions that deliver scientific and business impact Target start date: November 1, 2026, subject to completion of required compliance and onboarding checks
