The incoming physician will join a collaborative team committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care and expanding access to hematology services throughout the community. Highlights Include Opportunity focused on Classical Hematology Strong referral base from primary care physicians and specialists throughout the Bon Secours health system Growing practice with opportunity to expand hematology services across the region Practice conveniently located adjacent to St. Francis Medical Center Outpatient and hospital-based practice setting Adult and geriatric patient population Average patient volume of 35-40 patients per day Shared call coverage with Hematology/Medical Oncology colleagues Virtual visits available when clinically appropriate Participation in multidisciplinary Tumor Boards through a Commission on Cancer (CoC) accredited facility Robust support team including Nurse Navigators, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Dietitians, and RN/LPN clinical staff Opportunity for community engagement and professional development Hospital privileges available at St. Francis Medical Center, Memorial Regional Medical Center, Richmond Community Hospital, and St. Mary's Hospital Practice Details Full-time employed position (1.0 FTE) Monday-Friday schedule Clinic hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Outpatient clinic and hospital-based responsibilities Shared evening and weekend call coverage with Hematology/Medical Oncology physicians Collaborative, patient-centered culture focused on providing exceptional care Position Responsibilities The physician will provide comprehensive hematology care, including: Evaluation, diagnosis, and management of benign hematologic disorders New patient consultations and follow-up care Development and implementation of individualized treatment plans Ordering and interpretation of diagnostic testing and laboratory studies Coordination of care with primary care physicians and specialty providers Patient and family education regarding diagnoses and treatment options Participation in inpatient consultations as needed Community outreach and engagement activities Contribution to the continued growth and development of hematology services Candidate QualificationsMD or DO degree Board Eligible or Board Certified in Hematology Completion of residency and fellowship training Eligible for unrestricted Virginia medical licensure Interest in practice growth, professional development, and community engagement
